Alexandria, VA – Burke & Herbert Bank is pleased to announce that at its meeting on May 18, the Bank’s Board of Directors elected Jeffrey L. Stryker as a new member. Mr. Stryker is a member of the Bank’s executive management team, serving as its Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Mr. Stryker is an active contributor to the development of the Bank’s strategy and plan for ensuring the ongoing financial success of the Bank. In addition, Mr. Stryker oversees the Bank’s Finance, Accounting, and Compliance functions. With the addition of Mr. Stryker, the Bank’s Board of Directors is comprised of 12 individuals who collectively bring a broad range of experience both in and outside of the financial services industry.

Mr. Stryker joined Burke & Herbert Bank in 1984 in the role of General Auditor. In 1992, he was appointed as the Bank’s Cashier and was responsible for the oversight of the Accounting and Compliance departments, among other related duties. In 1999, Jeff was promoted to Senior Vice President & Cashier and also was appointed to be the Secretary of the Board of Directors. He has attended all meetings of the Board in that capacity since. He was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2003 and was promoted to his current position of Senior Executive Vice President & Cashier in 2014. Prior to joining Burke & Herbert Bank, Mr. Stryker gained valuable experience in the financial services industry, holding positions with F&M Corporation, the parent company of the former First & Merchants Bank in Richmond, Virginia and then MNC Financial, the parent company of the former Maryland National Bank. Mr. Stryker is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Business and Management. He also is a Certified Public Accountant.
