Alexandria, VA, July 11, 2018 – Burke & Herbert Bank is pleased to announce that the Board of Directors elected Kathleen K. Diamond as a new Director at its most recent meeting. Ms. Diamond is a consultant, entrepreneur, and business leader in the language services industry. She is the founder and former President & Chief Executive Officer of Language Learning Enterprises, Inc. (LLE), a language services company that was based in Washington, D.C., with a technology center in Winchester, Virginia. She founded the firm to provide language instruction, testing, translation, and interpreting services for businesses and others. Ms. Diamond sold LLE to CyraCom International in 2009. She currently is the principal of Kathleen Diamond & Co., a consultancy that focuses on helping companies prepare for growth and enhanced franchise value. Ms. Diamond also continues to devote time to advocacy and consulting in the language industry.

Ms. Diamond is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and later a Master’s Degree in 16th-century French literature. Kathleen has lived abroad extensively, and is fluent in multiple languages. She is the recipient of numerous professional awards and honors recognizing her many achievements as a successful woman in business. Among these are the “Women in Business Advocate of the Year” award presented by the National Association of Women Business Owners and the “Women Entrepreneurs of the World” award for lifetime achievements, presented by FCEM, an international organization of women business owners.
